On The Shelf

Great Stuff To Read

To Sell Is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others by Daniel H. Pink

  • This is one of my favorite books about sales. Why? Because it talks about the yuck factor long associated with the word "sell" and its euphemisms. There are tons of books, some terrific, on how to sell, but Pink gets to the heart of the matter about why it's hard for many (sleazy, rejection, etc.).

Smarter Pricing, Smarter Profit by Stuart J. T.Dodds

    • What makes a business book a must-read? I would posit that, at a minimum, the content must be timely, informative, insightful and well-written. Stuart's book is a winner on all these criteria. It's a must-read for anyone in the legal profession involved in the pricing or management of legal work. It’s smart and practical. As a reader of countless business books I was particularly appreciative and delighted that it was free of jargon and page-fillers!  It’s a book I give to my clients together with a yellow highlighter!
